FuglyFest: Will I? Or Won't I?

I've just heard about this FuglyFest: hp_beholder on InsaneJournal, and I think I might join. The userinfo says: This is a Fic/Art exchange created to let characters who some less-than-discerning people think are unappealing get some action. There's no smut requirement, per se, but the characters featured in your art or fiction must be shown in a relationship of some kind.

Surprisingly, Voldemort isn't listed as an acceptably unappealing character. I wonder if this is an oversight, or that the rest of fandom is just catching on to Voldy's charms. Either way, I've always wanted an excuse to draw Harry/Moody, maybe this will be it!

Sign-ups end on February 8th, so I've still got plenty of time to decide. On the one hand: there are so many squicky combinations I can think of (Vernon/Marge anyone?), but on the other: I seriously cannot resist the allure of pairing someone cute with someone hideous. I love reading about the kindhearted, popular, hottie drooling over someone who's been beaten by the ugly stick. It puts a big focus on their personalities. What is it about that person, that can attract someone who's got everything going for them? I certainly hope we'll see something like that at the fest. Cross your fingers!

Sirry Sketch

I just rediscovered RenRen, and OMG it's so awesome! I just had to draw some Sirry art myself. Except, this is the first time I've drawn Sirius and his face isn't even showing. Haha, Oh well.

Cut for Sirius/Harry Lovin (NC17) )

P.s.- You can find links to RenRen's Adult sites by going under Links/Bookmark and finding the banners for Honey Moon, and JT Lovers. Also, the top pic of Harry takes you to RenRen Mobile, which seems to mostly be previews of stuff on the other sites.

HPART: The Recycled Werewolf

It's been- wow, almost a month since I've posted. Sorry. I got a playstation for Christmas; connect the dots. Anyway, I felt guilty so I drew this today. Scary, yes? He reminds me of that guy from Death Note. I guess it's the eyes. For some reason I thought wolves had split pupils, but apparently not.
Fenrir Greyback(G) )
Haha, you guys want to see something weird? I couldn't figure out who I was drawing when I started this, so I scanned it and did another one as Remus Lupin. It looks horrible, but I'll show it off since I think it's hilarious how different the two pics turned out. Basically, if you re-sized and overlaid the images, some of it would line up.
Remus Lupin(G) )
I'm not sure which of these creeps me out more. It's like they've both got 'PEDOPHILE!' tattooed on their forehead. Seriously, Remus scares the shit out of me. Anyone who's got a rabid animal living inside them cannot be that nice.

Oh, and I guess I'm getting rid of my Greatest Journal cuz it seems like they're having problems over there. Frankly I'm glad I have a reason to shut mine down. It's just a hassle trying to keep it updated, and no one ever comments there.

HPart: Crucio!

This picture is killing me. I hate it, but I feel like I've been working on it for too long to give up now. I was going to wait until it was 100% complete before posting, but I'm not sure if that's ever going to happen, so here's the lineart.

Pairing:Harry/Voldemort
Rating: NC17
Warnings: Nudity, sadomasochism
A/n: I got the idea for this about a year ago. Maybe while reading BeatDobby's Ineluctability, since the idea is similar to one of the scenes. The Cruciatus does seem to be Voldy's favorite spell after all.
Crucio! )
This is about the third time I've tried to draw this scene, but it probably won't be the last.

WTF is wrong with you people?

Today, while I was at the mall with my mom, something a bit odd happened.
My mother has a bad back so she usually uses a wheelchair. When we went to the bathroom all of the stalls were empty except for the one with wheelchair access. It's annoying, but it happens. I guess my mom had to go pretty badly since she made me check three times that -yes there was someone in there. (and then she asked some stranger to check, because you apparently can't trust your own daughter) After she was convinced, I left her in front of the stall and went to wait in the lounge. Three minutes later she calls me back to check again. I'm a bit incredulous that this needs to be done 5 times, but do it anyway. And then I check again... and again. "Did you see anyone come out of there?" Nope, she was sitting there the entire time and no one came out. Yet, it appeared to be empty. I was a bit confused, and worried I imagined seeing someone in there, but the door was still locked. Eventually, I crawl under and unlock it.
So either the aliens have taken to abducting people off of public toilets, or someone has played a pretty mean prank. I'm sure you can guess which explanation I find more believable.
I mean, I'm not really arsed that I'm the one who had to belly slide under the door in a public restroom(ew), but hello, this is a handicap stall! Not everyone has an assistant, or is mobile enough to fix the problem. So whoever you are: I hope you're trampled in an AIDs walkathon or something.

After Dark Horrorfest: Karma at it's best

One sweltering summer day in Manhattan, the streets explode into chaos as a rat-borne virus breaks out. With every bite, city dwellers turn into bloodthirsty, rodent-like creatures that violently attack other residents. Seven recently evicted tenants fight through the night for survival, as the city quickly spirals out of control.

I have been making fun of this movie since I've seen the trailer. For a fortnight it's been mutant rats this, zombie rip-off that.

Well, I've been shuffling my timetable in order to see a different movie from the A.D. Horrorfest and saw that there was a showing at 8:20. Unfortunately, when I got there they said that there had been a mistake, and that they were instead showing Mulberry Street. Though I was disappointed and didn't recognize the name, I decided make the most of the evening and see it anyway.
Imagine my horror when the mutant rats showed up.

Random gibberish

I've just trying sushi for the first time, and though it wasn't as gagworthy as I was prepared for I don't think I'll be having it again. Seaweed- how can anyone like that stuff? And hey, I don't suck at chopsticks! That was a surprise. I've only used them around five times in my life.
Oh, and our waiter was the cutest little asian boy, he was only 7 I suppose and he did such a good job! Cute!

I'm still not getting emails from comments, which is annoying the heck out of me.

And... ZOMBIES!
Because I say so.

Pan'sLab: The Bone Flute

Rar, I have a migraine, but I'm too stubborn to get off the computer.
Anyway, I hope some of you are Pan's Labyrinth fans, because I just finished this pic of the faun. I've been wanting to do some art for P'sL for awhile, so I've been looking through production photos looking for ideas. When I saw Doug Jones (the faun) holding this bone flute I thought it was perfect. Of course it didn't occur to me then that I've never actually seen someone play the flute. Some advice for all you artists out there: Don't try to draw something you've never seen before unless you're very stubborn, and you have tons of reference pics! (I collected 50 pictures for this sketch, though I'll admit that's a bit overkill) This pic may have been a little out of my skill level but I think it turned out well. I'm not sure if I'll be drawing the faun again- he's way more detailed than I'm used to dealing with. (This was actually going to be a full length drawing, but halfway through I realized how much work that would be.) But maybe that's a good thing? I think lack of detail is one of my weak points anyway, so it'd be a good opportunity to fix that. Sounds fun. :/

Make way, immature idiot coming through!

I've made some pretty bad decisions for this Halloween, yet I'm not really feeling any regret. I should regret:
1. buying one of those "flirty" (slutty) costumes from Spencer's.
2. not trying the aforementioned costume on first.
3. deciding to bleach my hair for the costume when I loved my current color.
4. leaving the dying until the night before Halloween.
5. not buying enough hair dye.
6. not realizing that I've not bought enough hair dye until all of it is covering half my head.
But I think I've gotten everything worked out.
Lets start with the costume. Sometimes I see something and find myself thinking, "Remember how much you wanted one of those when you were 15? No one is stopping you now." That thought must have been all that was running through my mind this month. I'm never more selfish and impractical than I am around my birthday.
Anyway, I bought the costume and brought it home to find that I couldn't even fit it over my shoulders, and when I held it up to myself... well, at least the skirt covered my belly button. Jeannie Nelson would be so proud. Thankfully it had two underskirts I could use for the desperately needed extra material. Still, I wonder who exactly that costume was supposed to fit- I didn't think Spencer's sold dwarf clothing.
Now here I sit with the dye job from hell. When mom said she was running out of bleach I was picturing the opposite of Rogue from the X-Men. It turns out that it's a bit more like Cheetara from the Thundercats. DX Maybe I'll be able to even-out the color with Sun-In later.
Despite everything I'm still looking forward to tomorrow, and I'm pretty happy with what I've been able to salvage from my mistakes. At least the costume looks good, as for the hair- I'll just have to wait and see.

P.s- Guess my costume!

100 Scariest Movie Moments

I'm about halfway through watching the 100 Scariest Movie Moments and while I'll admit some of them are pretty creepy, I'm laughing way more than I think is appropriate. Why? Well it might be because they are including such horrifying movies as The Wizard of Oz, Jurassic Park, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory.
Seriously? Are these really the scariest movies they could come up with?

Commercials are over. I'll be back later if they mention any other ridiculous horrors. (Hey, #45 is WickerMan)

ETA: You know besides those very odd 3(IMO anyway), it's actually the number of very cheesy movies that I find interesting. Maybe I would feel differently if I had actually seen half of these movies, or had seen them at a time when the special effects were the best, but I'm having difficultly believing that these movies are universally viewed as the scariest. Some of these effects are really bad I mean like Evil Dead bad. (The Evil Dead was actually listed, so you know I'm not exaggerating.)

Bloopfish's Important Life Lessons:

Lesson One:
If you ever have chance to try out an electric wheelchair, always use the provided footrest. This is especially important when traveling through doorways. Should your feet be dragging on the floor, they are likely to be caught on the threshold while the chair continues its forward momentum. This is bad. (Oh Fuck! Ouch!) Furthermore, it can be difficult to reverse when the front wheels of the chair have come to rest on the other side of the door-frame. This too, is bad. (*whimpering* Give me my foot back!)
So remember, footrests are there for a reason. Use them.

In other news- LJ hasn't been alerting me to any comments made lately, so I'm sorry if I haven't responded. You can either pretend I said something witty and complimentary in response, or comment here (where I'll compulsively reload to see if anyone comments) and point me to where I seem to have missed you.

Is anyone having the same problem/is there anyway I can fix it? Some help would be greatly appreciated!

Why children aren't allowed at order meetings

Okay, here's my Dumbledore-Is-Gay!fanart. I'm so glad I decided not to do a AD/GG pic since everyone else seems to have one.
It's PG13-ish. I don't know, I suck at rating.

Dark-Lord-Love!

Whoa, I'm actually interested in a canon pairing. I've been thinking that Harry must have gotten his dark lord love from somewhere, but WOW it blows my mind that's this isn't just a slasher's pipe dream.
What say you? Does this need art, or shall I leave it to [info]fabledtruant?

FIC REC: The Marriage Stone

You know, I've never really done a fic rec before, but I've just got to say that The Marriage Stone by Josephine Darcy is pure awesome.
Here's the Summary:
SSHP. To avoid the machinations of the Ministry, Harry must marry a reluctant Severus Snape. But marriage to Snape is only the beginning of Harry's problems. Voldemort has returned, and before too long Harry's marriage may determine the world's fate.

As you can see it's a forced marriage plot, which I'm personally not very fond of, but a quote from the author explains this perfectly:"The other thing I love to do is write the proverbial Cliche. I take my favorite (in this case 'Harry is forced to marry Snape') and try to come up with a new and original twist to it."
She has certainly succeeded in that goal. Besides romance it's got a bit of political manipulation(always a favorite of mine), plot twists that should seem completely cracky but are just awesome, a dash of super Harry, and some kick-ass action scenes.
Though it's a WIP the author posts frequently, so don't miss out!

Voldemort/Harry ART

This is a colored version of Devilishly Handsome sans the religious theme. So, the title doesn't really work anymore, but I'm to lazy to come up with something better.
Oh, and I'm also too lazy to draw legs properly. Use your imagination.

Voldemort/Harry (NC17) )

Hey, have some classical music while you're at it.
In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg.
You'll probably recognize this song when you hear it, people use it everywhere. I myself think of it as the Sonic the Hedgehog theme song. I still love it though, it's so dramatic.

What is your Patronus (from Harry Potter)?

Your patronus is the snake. The snake is a creature often feared and disliked by others, often only because it is so different. The same is probably true with you. Although you have a knack for making people run the other way, you are very intelligent and have tremendous insight into things others can't comprehend. You are secure in yourself. Other people don't know what they're missing.

Lol, so true; nobody likes me and I really don't care.

P.s.- Whoever made the code for this is kinda retarded, but I fixed it as best as I could.
Haha, is messing with the codes even allowed? It would be funny if it wasn't. I defy you, Quizilla!

HPART: Vernon "I'm Normal" Dursley

Hmm, I've been meaning to post lately, but I can't seem to remember what I wanted to say. It was usually about 3 in the morning when I wanted to post so it's probably better that I refrained.
My mom's going back to work tomorrow so I'll hopefully have more time for art now. It was nice spending so much time together though, I'm going to miss that.
Anyway here's some art. This is that first time I've drawn Vernon, and it's exactly how I picture him. That's really odd for me, I never get a character right the first time. Was this how he looked like in the movies? I just remember the last movie, and he looked horrible there.

Now Mirrored on GreatestJounal

Hey everybody, I've gotten a 'just in case' account over at GreatestJournal now. Go friend me or something.

Obligatory LJ freakout

With all the LJ freakouts going on I've been thinking about what to do about my own questionable content. After reveiwing my pics the only ones I feel are 100% against TOS are Something's in the Water, and Sluggy/Harry. Though this is in response to LJs latest activities I've been repeatedly advised against showing such material if I wanted to continue a career in the visual arts. If this had been more of a hobby and less of a career training for me I very likely would have ignored the all warnings and continue as I had, but as that is not the case these are the actions I am considering.

Slugggy - In additon to being against TOS I'm quite aware that it has no artistic value what so ever, and is in fact quite unattractive. As such I believe I will be removing it from the internet entirely.
Something's in the Water on the other hand is quite popular and I like it enough that I'd feel pretty bad about removing it. It's going to be flocked until I decide on something more permanent. I'm thinking of hosting it somewhere like flickr and then linking to the pic, but it's not an ideal solution. Any ideas are welcome.

If you want to be friended, or on the off chance that you're missing Sluggy and would like to save him to your HD; just comment here and I'll friend you/email the picture.

P.s.- You know what's funny about this? I know I'm going to be drawing almost the exact same thing as before, just now leave out the underage warnings, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that. You can argue that they're not underage as long as you don't give them any solid evidence right? So they're basically scewing everyone over and making chan even easier to stumble upon.

HPART- Devilishly Handsome XD

OMG so tired, I couldn't sleep last night so I stayed up drawing this. I'm not really sure what's going on, Harry's expression confuses me. Voldemort was looking even more evil than normal so I was doodling some horns on him and decided to leave them and make Harry an angel to even things out. If I make this into a full color pic I'll take it out. The whole thing makes me want to have a caption contest, it's so weird.
Oh yeah, I wanted to say FORESHORTENING IS A BITCH! Kicked my ass, I spent more than an hour on Volder's neck and it still sucks.
...crap I forgot to downsize it... okay got it.
