SPN ART: Love ya, Jerk (G)

Okay, this is my first serious art for the Supernatural fandom. The Chip'n'Dales priests were fun, but I really wanted to draw Dean properly. And boy did he make it difficult! Sam is such a funky looking guy that I can get him on the first draft. But Dean is so perfectly proportioned it's like trying to give a Ken doll personality! Not easy.

G rated kisses behind the cut )
Yeah, I'm a Dean girl. He needs more luvin'.
Btw, I'm a bit behind the show- only up to 4.4 plus It's a Terrible Life, and The Monster at the End of This Book. So please no spoilers in the comments. Thx guys ♥

I challenge everyone who sees this to post a gorgeous picture of Jared or Jensen (or both!) in your LJ today.

I figured someone else could post the serious pictures.
Of course, my inner hp_Beholders fan saw opportunity here, so you get a drawwble too.

NOooooooo... so unlucky

Someone really doesn't want me to be a writer.
Back when I was writing that snarry fic, my personal computer went down taking my polished first chapter with it. Since it was my first time writing I was devastated. Eventually my mother let me use her work computer at night, until she quit her job. For some reason she wasn't able to extract the files before turning it in. Though I was willing, the fic resisted all attempts at being revived a second time.
After these incidents I promised myself I'd be more cautious: do most of it in pen, keep everything on a flash drive, and upload it to the net. I just was going to transfer my first chapter from my personal computer, but lo and behold the damn computer won't start! Just sldghiosdhg~ Argh! Why, WHY?!
It's not a complete loss content-wise, but I've learned how important momentum is and that's quite a few hours down the drain if I can't get this thing fixed. Why did it have to shut down when I went to back it up? That's just cruel. I didn't even do anything! Usually when the computer breaks I'm reasonably certain I had it coming, but not this time! I have the worst luck.

Pimping the Twilight Dumbassery

Okay, I can no longer resist the madness: binsybaby's post of Twilight GIFs is officially the most hilarious post in existence! Get your asses over there forthwith. It's things like this that make me want to download the entire internet just for shits and giggles.

Here's a preview to wet your appetites:

And my favorite! (cut for length) )
The more people complain about Twilight, and post shit like this, the more I want to see it. I think I've laughed more this week than I have in the last year. Geeze, first being reintroduced to Overheard Everywhere then this! If anyone else has some links to random hilarity, please share! ♥ ♥ ♥

I'm baaaack~ ...and writing fic?!

Hey! I'm back-ish.
The move went pretty easy, and I already feel like its home! A few note-worthy events happened since I last posted (Like my vibrator going off when I was loading it into the moving van lol, TMI). I kept wanting to write you guys updates, but only recently has my wireless been working with any reliability. I thought after the move we'd have all this money to get a good connection and other neat stuff, but there have been problems with my mother's disability payments so we're not going to be using up any cash on frivolous things until that gets worked out. *sigh* That's what I get for thinking I could relax about money for a while.

Besides that, I'd like to say that I've been keeping a bit of a secret for a while, but I think it's past time you guys knew that I've decided to do some writing. Yes, I too distinctly remember me saying that it's creepy when someone can both draw and write with any sort of talent, but well... Nya! I don't care. Unfortunately for most of you on my flist, the first fic I started awhile back didn't work out too well- apparently these things need room to breathe and I killed it with my strangle-hold. I say too bad because I think a lot of you would have liked that one; it was a dark!Snarry based off Phantom of the Opera. Anyway I suppose I put too much pressure on myself for a first time fic, but this time I'm not trying to win any awards. I usually don't like to say things unless I'm going to follow through, so I'm telling you this now because I'm in the process of writing a Transformers/HP crossover, and I'm pretty sure this one is going to see the light of day. I'd like to have the prologue and first chapter up before the Transformers sequel comes out in June, but I'm not sure if that's too optimistic. Besides hoping some of you will check it out if I do end up posting this thing, this is also a notice that my art production might drop in favor of writing for a while-- this is probably why there aren't many people who do both art and fic, right?

So you writers out there got any tips for a first timer? Any idea where to get a beta for a crossover? How goes betaing typically work anyway; am I going to need a reliable internet connection? Also any links to writer's resources would be nice. In particular, I'm having trouble with an action scene.

In other news, I think learning about the mechanics of writing has ruined quite a few fics for me. There is just something about being able to articulate why something is crap that makes that opinion so much more concrete in my mind. It's like, if I can't say what's wrong with it then there might not actually be anything wrong with it; I'm just being harsh. Now, it's like every negative thought I've had about backwater ffnet crap has been validated and I can't ignore it anymore. I really hope I'm not about to become a fic snob or a grammar nazi, that would be no fun at all.

Hiatus: I'm Moving

Yesterday, Mom was acting pretty preoccupied. When I finally asked her what's up she says, "I decided not to renew our renters insurance; we have 15 days to move."
Me: O_o "O...kay?"
Today we checked out a place three blocks down from where we are now, and ended up signing the lease there. I'm a bit blown away by how fast everything is happening, but I think we needed the kick in the pants. We just can't keep paying what this place is asking for, they keep raising our rates and it's no longer do-able.
Thankfully, besides a much lower rent our new apartment is not too much of a change. Mom was talking about driving all the way to California to live, I just wanted to stay on the same street. We've got Borders, the grocers, and quite a few places to eat all within a mile and a half. With her limited disability and the fact that we're without a car, these things are really important. Plus I doubt many places have the same public transportation system for the disabled that Florida has.
Right now I'm trying to take one thing at time; if I think about it too hard I start wondering if we have enough time, whether I'll be able to move everything with out hiring help, whether I'll come to regret choosing the apartment I did, etc... Anyway I'm going to be busy for awhile, and this is a good time to change internet providers like I mentioned a few posts back, so I'll be on hiatus until I'm resettled.

I've brought you all Resident Evil Porn! I doubt a lot of you on my flist have played the 4th game, so here's a short vid on youtube of Leon and Luis' first meeting- A little Rough, don't you think? Oh Luis, you don't even have to own slash-goggles to find that line interesting. Never mind the fact that he just came out of the closet in bondage.

Apparently in some places the word 'Cute' is code for 'Guro'. *gag* Damn you internets.
WARNING: vicarious squickage, for those faint of heart.

I've been feeling a little icky lately, but yesterday I finally felt like working on one of my drawings. So I was doing 'research', (and by research I mean looking at porn) and decided to take a break and check-out a forum titled 'Cute'- expecting cat macros, or at least cat-boys. Imagine my disgust when I was instead lead to a page filled with mutilated bodies and pics of people literally bathing in blood. Normally I don't have much of a problem with Guro. At that time of the month, I can even almost see the appeal of it in a deeply psychotic, my-uncle-is-really-Hannibal-Lecter sort of way(and by almost, I mean not at all really). But that doesn't mean I want it shoved in my face. As long as I don't have to see it, I don't care what gets you off. But tricking people into clicking on your page is not keeping it to yourself. Sure, wack off to corpses if you want, just don't expect me to.

I should have wrote this yesterday when I was pissed. Today the sadistic part of me that doesn't instinctively despise Guro, thinks it's actually pretty funny. You know that anyone who finds that crap arousing has got to have a warped sense of humor. *sigh* I can never stay mad.

So today was more doodling with my new/old Photoshop. I think I'll keep it, I'm not missing any vital features yet. ...So, I said I wasn't going to do any Transformers fanart, but I lied. Sorry, I promise to scan in my notes for that Wonderland pic tomorrow, and get to work on it! Anyway this was just supposed to be a throw-away doodle to work on my caricature skills, but I ended up really liking where it was going. Maybe I'll add Bee in later.

So I got my computer today (quick right?), there have been a few problems but 9 times out of 10 it was my own fault. I spent 3 hours trying to turn on the internet connection, when it occurred to me that I never reset the connection to the new IP address. I mean God! 3 HOURS and all I had to do was unplug a cable and plug it back in again! AND I had the speakers plugged into the wrong port, so I spent another hour checking all the drivers before once again- unplug/replug was the answer. I swear I'm not usually so retarded, today has just not been my day.

In related news, I totally forgot that the disk I have is for a really old version of Photoshop. I installed it and was like "...wut iz dis shit?" I played around with it a bit while fixing the lighting on a Voldy/Harry pic (Btw, was that pic really as dark as it seemed? I could hardly see it.) but I haven't decided if I'm going to keep it or find a newer version.

Also, I was pretty surprised to see that I now have Firefox. I know jack about it, so if there's anything I should know, please share! Right now, I'd like to know a bit more about the bookmarks (and the tagging system), but anything would be welcome. Does anyone know if/how I can import my bookmarks from IE to Foxfire? I've got tons of them and would rather not do it manually.

Possible Hiatus

We, in the house of Bloopers, have talked long and hard about switching internet providers. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes us so long to decide on anything that it could be months between the decision to shut down our current connection, and the decision on which provider we'll get to replace it. Thus, I am posting about a possible hiatus in the near future. But ne'er fear! I've just ordered that new computer mentioned in the last post! Whoo, I'm really looking forward to being able to run my art programs again! I've had a scene for my Wonderland series I've been wanting to draw for a while, but I can't do those sort of scenes without making like 10 drafts of everything, which is a real pain if you only have a pencil and paper to work with. I can't wait til it gets here! I think it comes with a wireless card so we'll see how that works out. The last time I dealt with wireless it was pretty unreliable, but it should be better than nothing right?

In other news- I am actually aware that it is a holiday today. Last year I was like, "...is someone setting off fireworks???" Actually, I'm only aware that it's a holiday because I tried to go to the bookstore and it was closed, but it still counts right? Lol, Happy New Year Everybody!

Transformer Christmas

I guess I should talk about Christmas, but I got the Transformers Movie today, and felt like sharing now that I've finished watching. There a few spoilers, but I didn't think anyone would care enough for me to cut it.
I'm actually pretty happy with it, it was surprisingly funny. LOL: robots in disguise. I'm not sure how much of that is context from fanon though. I admit to having my slasher's goggles on in the last scene, which is probably why I wasn't half as bothered by Mikaela and Sam making out on top of Bee as I should have been. Aside from that, yes there were too many explosions, but come-on they're giant robots! The female roles being so disgustingly gorgeous was also a little disappointing, but what can you expect from action movies? Actually, I was surprisingly okay with Maggie, even if it did seem pretty random. And I'm sorry I have to be such a sour-puss, but I was a little disappointed in Optimus Prime all around: 1) He's got one ugly mug, 2) I kept tuning out his voice for some reason (which is bad news if you're the narrator as well) 3) I've consistently heard Optimus described as 'noble', but I totally didn't get that impression here. I'm sure you can explain it all away by saying that he's the commander in a war that's lasted a few millennia, but my movie logic says that's no excuse, and I refuse to be impressed by his character. I was actually a little disappointed with the humanity of the Autobots. The pause after Jazz's death was a little too short to be called respectful. I just wished it had seemed a bit more like the robots were actual characters instead of cars who only have personalities when it's convenient. I'm sorry this sounds so negative, they really weren't half as bad as I'm making it sound.
Overall I really did enjoy this movie- especially Sam's Happy Time scene. I think I'm just a bit embarrassed to admit to my favorite parts. I feel like everyone is so anti-CG, especially being in contact with sketch artists, I feel kinda bad when I admit to liking some of it. Sometimes I think I'd rather admit to liking S&M pornography. Not that I can't see where they're coming from; when you see things like that new Christmas special with the Miser brothers, and that other one with Rudolf you just wish they'd bring back animation(stop-motion too since we're on the subject).
Oh! I suppose I should say that Bumblebee was cute, though the only two lines he actually said where in a voice quite a bit off from what I was imagining. I'd have to listen to it again to say if it's good or bad, right now I just think that fanon has given me the impression that he should have had a younger voice.
I did get a Bumblebee action figure for Christmas! The box says for ages 5 and up, but I've got to say that I feel bad for any kid who gets this. It was so fricken complicated trying to get it to transform from a Camero into a robot, and I couldn't even get it to go back right! (That's not even mentioning the fact that his head popped off three times.) One funny thing is that when he's in his car form, his gun is fitted in between his thighs with the nozzle pointed back where the sun don't shine. Certainly not where I'd want to keep my gun.

Ps- We talked about buying another computer today, so cross your fingers, I may be back to arting soon!

mildly drunken, very rambling post

I've been so giddy these last few days.
Though I guess I've also been a bit liquored up these last few days as well.
I just get so excited and when I stop to pin-point the reason I come up empty. It's not the holidays, I can never really get into the mood in this Florida weather. The closest comparison I can come up with is when I've found something fantastic; like the first time I read If You Are Prepared or found Yukipon's art. If humans could purr I'd sound like a Harley. (god I feel so spastic right now. I keep having to delete typos- this is probably the closest I'll ever come to the mandatory drunken post.)

I haven't been reading HP at all lately. Awhile back I read a crossover with Transformers that got me interested in the TF fandom even though I've never seen the movie, old show, new show, or any of the comics. I hear that kind of stuff in the HP fandom (people talking about only having read the last 2 books/only seeing the movies) and it bothers me, so it's a bit strange being on the other side of the fence this time. Frankly I have no interest in viewing their canon, it seems very shallow to me (boy wants to get a car to impress girl, he gets the car, it turns into an alien robot, she is impressed, they save the world and make out on top aforementioned car/sentient robot) Okay so maybe that does sound kinda cool, I may just have a thing for robots- the boy's car 'Bumblebee' in particular.

Sam: Oh Mikaela, I'm a big looser but look my car turns into a robot, we are obviously meant to be!
Mikaela: Well, I was dating the quarterback, but that is one sexy car, ok!

ANYWAY, I like the idea of this dorky kid's only friend(more than friend if you're pervy enough) being a giant alien robot. I've found some pretty cool fics. I also like the idea of these robots completely screwing up when it comes to Human culture. Like, I don't know, these guys are giant super computers, and they could be watching someone playing with a yo-yo and being all 'WHY?!' and the whole TMI issue of being able to detect pheromones and temperature changes/heart rate-- so many opportunities for embarrassment and/or hilarity. Oh, and I also love that no one can decide how robots really have sex, so I've read like 6 versions that have nothing to do with 'insert Tab A into Slot B.' (I'm not sure if that's supposed to be 'Slot A' but since I'm a slasher I'm going to leave it like that anyway.) Like THIS ONE! (lol, robot carnival)

The point of all this was that maybe I've found this exciting new thing in a fandom, instead of a specific fanwork. For those of you on the verge of hyperventilating, I wouldn't worry: the BeexSam ship seems to be a dingy to HP's Cruise-liner and... I'm not sure where I was going with that analogy, but I'll be sticking with HP fandom to fuel my obsessive-compulsive need for fanfic and art. Plus, there are like 4 versions of Bee(the robot) so I wouldn't even know where to begin if I was inclined to make fanart. Which I'm not.
Oh yeah, the reason I wanted to make this post in the first place is that I saw that Christopher Lee was going to be in the new Alice in Wonderland movie and I was excited, because I love Christopher Lee, but it didn't show who he was going to play, and I can't really think of who he'd be, but now as I'm writing this I remembered the part he had in Willy Wonka which was really just a glorified walk-on role, so I'm not half as excited anymore. Wow, I really didn't mean to make that all one sentence.

Warning: This post needs a beta.

Once again, another disappointing holiday.

Ever since I've moved to Florida, celebrations have been pretty drab. (On Halloween I have been asked if I've just come from performing in a play- people are that clueless here.) If it were up to me I'd completely skip Thanksgiving. A celebration of America's tendency to over-eat just don't impress me much. This year I tried to make it into somewhat of a bake off; I'm a pretty lazy cook, so there are a lot of things I've wanted to try but never bothered with before.
This morning, my mother and I were both woken up pretty early, so we decided to take a nap before cooking. This is all fine, except that the smell of twice-baked potatoes pulled me from my room to discover that she'd done all the baking while I was asleep! Then because she's so tired, she leaves me to do all the stove-top cooking while she rests. I mean WTF, did she not get it at all? I for one do not think just eating makes something a celebration, and would have liked to actually spend time with her in the kitchen. Anyway, since she cooked half of our food so early, it was cold and dried out by the time the rest of it was ready to be eaten. Not to mention that she made two pies for just the two of us (after I asked her repeatedly not to) and then didn't take a bite of either. And that's not even all of it: When I told her I was going to go get dressed and came out in my best cloths, she somehow didn't get the hint that I didn't want to celebrate in our pajamas. Finally, after 20 mins of eating in front of the TV she goes off to take her nap. Someone please tell me I'm not overreacting when I say how disappointing this day has been?

As a side note: we've been buying our Christmas presents a little earlier this year and it is driving me mad. They're just sitting in the corner unwrapped and I'm supposed to ignore them?! Like, we got these little key-chains for stocking stuffers that you can play Mario and Donkey Kong on, and I want to play so bad! Gimme!

Until he tells me otherwise, I'm going to have to assume that Tim Burton reads my LJ, because this is just too wierd. So, hello Mr. Burton and thank you for making my dreams come true!

Hey,
I'm updating from the public library- so no dirty stuff. Long story, short: my computer is broken, and I have absolutley no money to fix it. I'm trying to be optimistic, but it's not looking good. Sorry to say that I won't be around for awhile.
Sorry,
Bloopy

Like a creep with a trench-coat

The hp_beholder fest has revealed it's participants. Of course, I immediately looked to see if [info]fanlay had done the writing (in addition to the art) for my gift. I'm sorry to say that (to my knowledge)[info]fanlay does not in fact have superhuman abilities to make both awesome fic and art, but has instead come into an unholy alliance with writer [info]lookfar. I was absolutely spoiled by these two, and I urge you once again to take a looked at their combined effort A Fish May Marry a Bird

And now I get to take credit for La Petite Mort! When I saw these two characters on [info]vissy's wishlist (even before it was assigned to me) I said, "I want that! That's what I want to do." Boy was I lucky to have them assigned to me, I don't know if I'd have been able to get my mind to switch tracks. Ghost-sex is awesome.

Title: La Petite Mort
Rating: NC-17
Pairings: Fat Friar/Bloody Baron
Warnings: Ghostly genitals, blowjob
Summary: Some of Hogwarts most archaic residents are just addicted to death.
Artist's Notes: When I saw this list of all these fantastic characters and Vissy's additional likes I wanted to do everything. Unfortunately, these guys didn't leave room in my head for anything else. Hopefully next time they'll save some space for Snape.
La Petite Mort )
As a side note- I had a heck of a time trying to figure out what the Baron should be wearing. The last book gives evidence that the Baron was alive at the time of the founders (about a 1000 years ago) and my admittedly basic research tells me that; besides the wardrobe of that time being pretty shabby, the title of Baron wasn't even introduced until around 30 years after The Bloody Baron's death.

So I decided that basing anything on JKR's math skills was pure folly and instead modeled him after Louis XIV of France. Can't remember why, but at least it looks good.

Yay prezzies!

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, I just got my [info]hp_beholder present and OMG! I'm so lucky! I got a fic and two pieces of art to go with it! I don't think it's possible for a present to be more awesome. It's Snape/Firenze (Yes I know I'm a pervert, so sue me.)and their relationship is so sweet. Gah, my brain is melting just thinking about it. The fic is NC-17, but even if centaur sex squicks you out you've got to see the art(G-PG13). Firenze is gorgeous! They've got this sense of intimacy to them, it's very beautiful. So go checkout A Fish May Marry a Bird at the [info]hp_beholder fest.
